The Portland Community Bowling Association's

Thank you to all the bowlers who chose to make Rose Bowl Classic 29 your destination for the weekend of June 1-3, 2012.  Attendance continues to drop due to an ongoing economy that just doesn't seem to want to heal itself.

There have been a few adjustments to winners list since our awards banquet.  We apologize to Low Hanging Fruit of Seattle, who were announced as 4th place team, but actually came in 2nd.  This moved two teams down in the standings.

Thanks to those who helped on this year's Rose Bowl Classic 29.  Thank you Terry Walton - Raffle & Mega-Mini raffles prep and prize distribution; thanks to our ticket sellers Dave Smotrys, Tony Fitzjarrell, Mike Bistrian, Lori Saunders and Mitch;   Troy Albin, Steve Eddy, Kayla Widdicombe) - registration and computer scoring.  Thanks to Jeanne Sentman for being our Sweet Treat Hostess.  Special thanks to our new bowling house 20th Century Lanes for a job well done and to our new banquet facility of the Monarch Hotel in Clackamas County.

6/2012 - As in the past few years, Payments  will be made by the end of the month of June after we have completed all our final verification of results, averages and handicaps between the house results and ours.  Canadian checks have to be hand prepared and mailed, as most US Banks have still not automated international payments.

Checks will be made by your total winnings by combining all events.  Each check should have had a memo attached indicating what the payment was for.  If you believe you were entitled to a check that was announced at the banquet that has not yet arrived please contact us immediately.  All checks are valid for only 60 days and then are invalidated by the Bank.  Contact us at PDXbowl@comcast.net for any discrepancies.

Checks are not forwardable.  If you have moved and did not provide us with an updated street address before we issued those checks, we are required to wait until the checks have been returned to the Bank, before they can be reissued.

Congratulations to Mark Iverson of Portland for winning the $680 Mega-Mini prize; Allen Rise of Boring, OR for winning the Storm bowling ball; and all our other raffle ticket winners.  Additionally, congratulations to James Hanley and Jim Gianakis who both won the Pathetic Performance Insurance entry fee reimbursement.

The Most Original and Creative Team name for the 2012 Rose Bowl, as voted by their constituents was:
"Don't Get Testycle with us" from Tennessee.

After a very long drought, congratulations to Portland for capturing the Pacific Rim Award honors.  It was a slim margin of only .10, but Portland took the top honors 672.65 over Seattle's 672.55,  Vancouver, BC was not too far behind at 671.43.
